Prenatal
and Women's Gentle Yoga
This
yoga class caters to both women and moms-to-be by offering an introduction to
the basics and benefits of yoga. It is designed for moms who can leave their
babies at home (or in their belly!).
The
Prenatal and Women's Gentle Yoga class combines yoga postures with the breathing
exercises to inspire a sense of calmness and tranquility and will ultimately
result in increased awareness of mind, body and spirit. This class will help
strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion,
exercise the spine and increase overall comfort.
Yoga
can also alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy and post-pregnancy, such
as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. A
safe, open community allows you to freely discuss any issues, from discomforts
and concerns, to the changes your body and baby are experiencing.
Mats
and equipment are provided, but please feel free to bring your own mat.
All
attendees must be cleared by their physician to participate six weeks after
giving birth. For our expectant FitMommis, we require a prenatal medical
release form (available under Forms).
